Everyone can do something to help – start today!

DONATE CASH

Monetary gifts are the most useful, as they can immediately be channeled into the area of greatest need. Even small amounts are greatly appreciated – especially if they are given regularly every month by card or debit order. You may not miss R50 or R100 coming out of your account every month ... but over the course of one year, those small gifts add up to R600 or R1200 – representing real hope for someone in need.

Please make direct deposits into the account detailed alongside (and do let us know of your generosity by emailing a copy of the receipt to fundraising@siyabongaafrica.org.za) or use the form below to give by Master/Visa Card, SID Instant EFT or MobiCred. Thank you for helping to make a difference.

If you prefer to donate by Debit Order, please click here to download the Debit Order Form.

FUNDRAISE FOR US

If you're running a marathon or participating in a cycle race, make your achievement count for more by asking friends, family and business associates to sponsor you in aid of Siyabonga Africa.

We are registered on GivenGain and Backabuddy – where you can easily set up a fundraising profile with Siyabonga Africa as the beneficiary. Your friends can sponsor you online – and leave a message of encouragement for you too. All the money you raise goes directly to us (less a small fee) so you don't have to worry about handling cash or having to bank it.

If you're not sporty, you could ask people to make a donation instead of buying you a birthday or anniversary gift. Or come up with your own fundraising event or idea.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME OR TALENTS

Do you have useful skills you could pass on to someone else, or put to good use to help us maintain our computers, office equipment, buildings, etc? Do you have time to help out with admin tasks, transport, gardening, etc.

Please email sarah@siyabongaafrica.org.za if you are interested in finding out more about volunteering opportunities at Siyabonga Africa. Thank you.

GET A MYSCHOOL CARD

It costs absolutely nothing to get a MySchool Card – but every time you swipe it at participating stores such as Woolworths, Engen, ToysRUs and loot.co.za, they make a donation on your behalf directly to Siyabonga Africa ... at no cost to you. You even benefit from instant savings of at least 10% on over 1000 items with Woolworths WRewards!

South Africa’s biggest community-based fundraising programme, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet raises over R4 million every month for schools, charities and animal welfare organisations. Simply apply online and select Siyabonga Africa as the charity you want to support. Even if you already have a card with another beneficiary, you can add Siyabonga Africa to your card and both charities will share the funds you raise by swiping your card.

LEAVE A BEQUEST

When you make your Will, you have a unique opportunity to help others in a way you perhaps can't manage right now.

Including a charitable bequest to Siyabonga Africa is a painless way to give – since you don't spend any of your money now. Only when you no longer need it, does it go towards helping someone else build a better future for themselves and their families.

A charitable bequest could even save you money, by reducing the amount of tax payable on your death. Wouldn't you prefer to know that, instead of going to SARS, your money will be put to work to make a real difference to someone who has not been as fortunate in life as you have?

Of course you will first want to make provision for your spouse and children. But if your children are grown up and self-sufficient, you may well be able to spare something to help someone in real need.

    Types of bequests
A bequest is simply a sum of money or an item (such as your motor vehicle, home, jewellery, arts and antiques) that is given to a specific family member, friend or institution named in your Will.

In order to avoid giving away money and items you no longer have – and to ensure the value of your bequest keeps pace with inflation – a sensible option is to leave a percentage of your estate to each of your beneficiaries. Another option is to leave the residue (what is left after all taxes and other bequests have been paid) – or a percentage of the residue – to an organisation such as Siyabonga Africa.

If you already have a Will
You can easily include a bequest to Siyabonga Africa by means of a codicil, which is a document containing additional instructions that is read in conjunction with the Will. Since a codicil needs to be properly worded and witnessed in the same way as a Will, you are strongly advised to seek the advice of an expert before making or changing your Will.

For more information about leaving a bequest to Siyabonga Africa, please call Sarah on 011 744 4350 or email fundraising@siyabongaafrica.org.za.
